About Me
Hi, I’m Sam! I’m a Senior Product Designer with 7+ years of experience turning messy, complex problems into clear, intuitive experiences.
How I Think & Work
My approach to product design is shaped by years of navigating ambiguity, scaling systems, and aligning cross-functional teams. A few principles I rely on:
Ask why before how
Great design begins by asking “why,” ensuring the real problem is solved, not the first one that appears.
Momentum creates insight
Move quickly, test early, and let real-world feedback guide the path.
Create in partnership with users
Human-centered work requires real partnership—listening directly to users to understand the subtle needs data can’t capture.
Prototype possibilities
Design becomes powerful when we as a team can see the future instead of imagining it.
Fail, learn and iterate together
Embrace imperfections by humbly failing fast and learning often. Auditing and iterating are crucial steps to solving design problems and inspire improvement
Simplicity with whimsical delight ✨
Design should feel weightless: nothing extra, nothing missing, and a soft layer of delight that rewards users once they realize how easy everything was.
I’m inspiried by
the color green, art deco architecture, 70’s patterns & typography, and flowers
In my free time
I love exploring new restaurants in Chicagoland, dog training, cooking, lifting, and playing darts
